Jessica Giusti – Jessica Giusti is a sixth-year Feminist Studies Ph.D. candidate at the University of Minnesota where her work focuses mainly on topics in queer studies and its intersections with fat studies, new media, and performance. It is her utmost hope that by the time of the conference, her dissertation will be a completed thing of the past! Outside of writing and teaching, Jessica spends her time queering domesticity, attending cake decorating classes, and teaching butches how to slow dance.

Julie Cira – Julie Cira recently returned to her hometown of Baltimore after earning a master’s degree in library science from UNC-Chapel Hill. Currently working as a librarian, in the past she has worked for the Alternative Press Index and Planned Parenthood of Maryland. Beyond the 9-5, she is developing a blog, Still Ill, which focuses on illness/“disability”, social justice and patient empowerment. She also enjoys playing drums and singing, and has performed with a small number of queer music projects based in Baltimore and North Carolina. Julie is also a certified yoga instructor. Most importantly, she’s proud to represent Baltimore among the organizers of the 2012 Femme Conference.

Dana Mahoney – Dana Mahoney is an activist, feminist, animal lover, low-femme fatty, NPR nerd, and purveyor of delicious snacks. She has worked in non-profit volunteer management, event planning and fundraising for the past decade. Although she grew up in Texas, she has no accent and Portland, Oregon is now where she hangs her hat.
